Description: Chinese President Xi Jinping has rolled out the largest revamp of the country’smilitary in almost a decade. The restructuring of People's Liberation Army focuses on technology-driven strategic forces equipped for modern warfare, as per reports.<br/>In a surprise move last week, Xi scrapped the Strategic Support Force (SSF) military branch he created in 2015. The SSF was created to integrate PLA’s space, cyber, electronic and psychological warfare capabilities.<br/>In its place, Xi inaugurated the Information Support Force, which he said was “a brand-new strategic arm of the PLA. The new force would play an important role in helping the Chinese military “fight and win in modern warfare,” said Xi at a ceremony on April 19.
