Here, before-and-after image #maps showing coral mortality following the 2016 mass coral #bleaching event at Lizard Island, Great Barrier Reef. The #colourful image is from 2015 - before coral bleaching – while the second shows the greyed and dead coral skeletons in 2016. This reef patch is only 2 x 2 meters in area.nNow imagine something similar happening at the scale of the entire #GBR – about the size of Italy.
